AGNC has been awarded a grant from the Department of Local Affairs to conduct local scale mapping of Greater Sage Grouse (GrSG) habitat in the counties of  Garfield, Grand, Jackson, Mesa, Moffat, Rio Blanco and Routt.  There are six distinct populations of GrSG across NW Colorado and this project will help to refine the critical habitat, as well as aid in defining how each of the populations utilize the habitat which will inform local, state and federal agencies on best practices to benefit the species while continuing to allow for multiple uses of the lands near habitat.

The project began in early 2016 and is expected to be completed later in 2017.
