August 10, 2023

AGNC (Associated Governments of Northwest Colorado) is pleased to host their 8th annual Economic Development Summit, titled Seeds of Innovation. The full-day event will be held at the Grand River Hospital District Conference Center in Rifle, CO from 9am to 4:45 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

“AGNC is thrilled to host our 8th annual Economic Development Summit - fueling growth, sparking innovation, and boosting collaboration. By bringing together top minds from various industries, along with policymakers and forward-thinkers, we create this dynamic space where ideas mix, partnerships kick off, and strategies for long-lasting economic progress take shape,” said Tiffany Dickenson, Executive Director of AGNC. “With each passing year, this summit reinforces our path to a future where success is a result of our collaborative efforts.”

The 13 speakers represent a wide range of industries to provide value to attendees who represent municipalities, counties, private industry, and legislators. Topics include Housing Innovation, Colorado River Valley EDP - Innovating Rural Economic Development, Advancements in Aviation Panel, Economic Development Legislation Updates, Colorado State University Regional Economic Development Institute, Northwest Colorado Energy Initiative, and the always popular Northwest Colorado Economic Update presented by Dr. Nathan Perry, Associate Professor of Economics at Colorado Mesa University.

For fifty-one years, AGNC has been the trusted advocating agency and council of governments (COG) in Northwest Colorado. It serves the counties of Garfield, Mesa, Moffat, and Rio Blanco in Planning Region 11. Since 2019, AGNC is also the officially designated Economic Development District (EDD) for the region and Routt County, a designation made by the Economic Development Association (EDA), a division of the United States Department of Commerce. As the EDD for the region, AGNC maintains a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS); a segment of the CEDS report is to provide ongoing education to our members. This annual summit is the perfect opportunity to learn, engage and spark important economic development conversations.

A special thanks to the sponsors of this event, who include CHFA, Tri-State Generation & Transmission, Community Hospital and Colorado Mesa University.

The cost to attend the 2023 AGNC ED Summit is $75 per person, which includes lunch. Media are invited to attend at no charge.
